Torn Cloth is one of the first materials you go looking for in Enshrouded; its item text reads “Torn and tattered remains of cloth that were left behind and now serve the Scavengers as clothing.” You start needing it almost immediately, since a single piece combines with String to make a Bandage.
Quick answer: Torn Cloth drops from enemies, from searchable dead bodies in the world, and from smashed containers and debris in camps and ruins. The quickest early supply is Scavengers and Springlands Fell soldiers.
Enemies that drop Torn Cloth
Killing the right enemies is the most dependable supply. Scavengers also hand over Metal Scraps on every kill, and the Fell soldiers in the Shroud drop Shroud Spores, so these fights cover several early needs at once.
| Enemy | Torn Cloth per kill |
|---|---|
| Scavengers (Scab, Scalper, Butcher, Bully, Scrapshield, Miner, Pyreblade) | 1–3, about one kill in three |
| Fell Squire, Fell Defender, Fell Lancer | 1–2 every kill |
| Fell Scout, Fell Sentinel, Fell Marksman | 2 on about half of kills |
| Hollow Reaper | 2–3 every kill |
| Hollow Summoner | 1 every kill |
| Hollow Damned | 1 on about half of kills |
You’ll encounter Scavenger Scabs throughout Revelwood, the Nomad Highlands, Kindlewastes, and the Springlands; their camps contain plenty of smashable containers. Fell soldiers are the enemy type seen most often in the Springlands Shroud; Hollow Damned are mostly in Hollow Halls.

Roughly a hundred dead Fell are scattered across the map, with the largest clusters in Revelwood, the Springlands, and the Nomad Highlands. Dead Scavengers are found mostly in the Kindlewastes. Looting either kind of body can yield Torn Cloth, Shroud Spores, and Metal Scraps together, without requiring a fight.
Smash containers and debris in camps and ruins
At deserted camps and ruins, crates, barrels, tent contents, and debris piles draw from a random material pool that can include Torn Cloth. Smash them as you explore, then collect the drops.
The Abandoned Caravan Camp in the Springlands is a solid spot to clear out.

From there, make your way toward the ruined walls along the route to Braelyn Bridge. A debris pile beside the path yields Metal Scraps and Torn Cloth together, making the detour worthwhile.
