Rain on a footbridge in the Town of Amore

The Town of Amore is the second town of Chapter 3, “Wardens of the Aquapolis”, in Final Fantasy Resonance. You reach it right after Waterfall Way while your objective reads “Go to Warden’s Cape”. It is your last chance to restock before that trip, and its shops cost more than Olderion’s. Here is what each counter sells, what it costs, and where your Gil goes furthest. The full Final Fantasy Resonance walkthrough covers the rest of the chapter.

Quick answer: Just east of the inn, Amore has an item counter and a shop selling both weapons and armor. Pick up Phoenix Downs and Ethers here; Tents must come from Olderion, since Amore’s item shop carries none.

Expect steep prices for equipment: weapons are 4,500 to 7,700 Gil, while armor ranges from 4,500 to 5,500 Gil. Upgrading everything in one visit will consume most of your funds. Smoke Bombs have a cap: the shop displays “Remaining: 3”, then marks the entry Sold Out after you purchase the third. Inside the inn, you’ll find a save point. The arrival sequence gives the party a night’s rest, so there’s no need to pay for a room on your first visit.

How to get to the Town of Amore

Amore sits right outside the exit of Waterfall Way. If you are still inside the dungeon, the Waterfall Way walkthrough gets you to the end.

Watch the altar scene at the end of Waterfall Way. It sets the objective “Go to Warden’s Cape”, and El says the road to the cape runs through the town of Amore.
Follow the lengthy path south to Waterfall Way’s north hall. Leave through its exit by choosing F Proceed, which takes you to the World Map.
Head about 9 m north of that exit to the town built on the water. Press F Proceed at it to enter.

A story scene plays as soon as you arrive. Rain collapses, the party spends the night at the inn, and the game autosaves. You regain control outside the inn with the whole party fully restored, and the objective still reads “Go to Warden’s Cape”.

Amore inn and save point

Look for the bed sign on the house in your starting square; that’s the inn.

Inside, the save point is beside the beds, and its menu includes Save progress. Save before leaving for Warden’s Cape. For more on the save system, read how to save in Final Fantasy Resonance.

Where the Amore shops are

Head east from the inn, crossing the little bridge to reach two shops next to each other on the boardwalk. A bag sign marks the item shop, while crossed swords identify the weapon and armor shop. Choose F Open at either entrance to go inside.

One clerk works at the item counter; at the weapon and armor shop, separate clerks handle weapons and armor. The interactive Town of Amore map shows the layout of the town.

Tents don’t appear anywhere in the inventory, so purchase them in Olderion for 300 Gil before departing if you plan to rest at save points. For a purchase, choose an item, set its quantity, and confirm with Yes.

Smoke Bombs stop at three: after the third purchase, the row reads Sold Out.

The Icebrand and Leather Whip each have an added benefit: the Icebrand “Imbues non-elemental physical attacks with Ice.” and the Leather Whip grants Speed 10. On our level 23 party, the Icebrand gave Rain +32 physical attack and +15 magic attack.

Compared with Olderion’s stock, these weapons have varying value. Shiranui surpasses Olderion’s Hototogisu (65 / 43). The Leather Whip improves on the Empress Birch Archwitch Fina joins with (61 / 85), and also adds Speed. Buster Mace falls short of Olderion’s Warpick (61 / 59, Speed 20), so don’t buy one if Lid already has the Warpick. Knightly Tactics offers more magic attack than the other grimoire. See the Final Fantasy Resonance weapons list for complete stats on every blade, hammer, and book.

Kenpo GiLight armor5,00085 / 66

The Bard’s Tunic adds Sanctity 21. The Knight Armor carries Speed -25 along with “Increases HP by 140.”

The shop preview indicates which characters gain stats from an item. Highlighting Bard’s Tunic shows gains only for Archwitch Fina and Nichol, since robes are the armor type they use. Fina’s increases are +20 physical defense, +16 magic defense, and +21 Sanctity. Once you purchase an item, the prompt “Equip now?” appears, followed by a side-by-side view of the old and new gear.

That comparison matters for Fina. Putting the Bard’s Tunic on her replaces the Cape of the Raiju (45 / 57), which “Halves damage taken from Lightning attacks.” and “Increases MP by 30.” She trades that Lightning protection and the 30 MP for the higher defense and Sanctity. The Final Fantasy Resonance armor list has the rest of the robes and plate.

What to buy in Amore

Spend in this order: consumables, then weapons, then armor.

  • Phoenix Downs at 200 Gil and Ethers at 500 Gil (50 MP each).
  • Hi-Potions at 800 Gil if your stock is low.
  • For your journey to Warden’s Cape, consider buying Smoke Bombs: they cost 300 Gil and the shop limits you to three.
  • Tents from Olderion, since Amore doesn’t stock them.

Shiranui for Lasswell and Leather Whip for Archwitch Fina are direct upgrades over their Olderion options, while Icebrand gives Rain the biggest attack increase. Skip Buster Mace if Lid already carries the Warpick. The four-item bundle of Icebrand, Shiranui, Leather Whip, and Knightly Tactics comes to 28,350 Gil, beyond what most parties have when they arrive.

Armor goes last, partly because Amore hands out some for free. Chests around town hold the Aegis Robe, a robe with 127 physical / 40 magic defense and Sanctity 28. They also hold the Morning Star, a hammer with 118 magic attack and “Increases magic attack by 10%.”, and Water Scroll I x2. Open those chests before you pay for a Bard’s Tunic. For a price check against the previous town, the Olderion shops rundown lists that stock, and the Final Fantasy Resonance items list covers every consumable.
