Probably Stolen: Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim lets you turn wanted criminals in for cash, but the button that does it won’t respond to a normal click. That one detail is why players find nothing happens when they try to report someone.
Quick answer: When a face from the Wanted poster is at your window, press and hold the teal Call Security button on the counter for about half a second. A single click does nothing.
The button sits on the small control strip on the counter, the teal one beside the green and red buttons. Its tooltip reads “Call Security for assistance”. Security Officers then arrive and take the customer away. If the report is correct, you get the reward printed on the poster.
How to report a wanted customer to Security

You can confirm the report went through in several ways. The button’s tooltip changes to “The current customer has already been reported”, and the reported customer says “Hmm?” When James Bailey is reported, a banner reading “Your Store Lost Reputation With The Lower Levels” also appears at the top of the screen; reporting Odin Haraldsson showed “Your Store Lost Reputation With The Revolution” instead, so the faction named changes with the criminal. At the end of the run, the summary’s Security tab counts your arrests under Wanted Criminals Caught, out of 9.
Example: reporting Odin Haraldsson on Day 10
On Day 10 of our Mark Up run (Apprentice, neither Model Citizen nor Convict), Odin Haraldsson came to the window in a green beanie and armour and warned: “Report me, and you’ll never see me again.” His face matches the 300-credit entry on the poster, so we held the button anyway.

The hold registered at once: the Revolution reputation banner appeared, Odin answered “Hmm?”, and the button’s tooltip switched to “The current customer has already been reported”.

Security Officers then stepped in on both sides of him. Odin said “You will regret this.”, and an officer replied “Odin Haraldsson… at last. You are under arrest.”

Once he was led away, the full 300-credit bounty was added to our credits and the banner “Your Store Gained Reputation With The Security” appeared.

A correct report pays the reward listed on the poster and adds 5 Security reputation. That criminal’s face is then crossed out on the poster. The poster has nine faces, with rewards paid in credits.
| Wanted criminal | Reward (credits) |
|---|---|
| James Bailey | 300 |
| The Butcher | 450 |
| Arthur Lafleur | 100 |
| Odin Haraldsson | 300 |
| Lou | 1500 |
| Li Bei Wen | 400 |
| Juan | 125 |
| John Smith | 125 |
| Leroy | 300 |
Your starting perk changes both the cash reward and the reputation gain.
| Starting perk | Reward and Security rep gain | Lou’s reward |
|---|---|---|
| Model Citizen | 50% higher | 2250 |
| Convict | 25% lower | 1125 |
Model Citizen gives you an extra +30 Security Reputation at the start, while Convict gives you an extra -30. Selecting the Known Snitch perk prevents any criminal pictured on the Wanted poster from visiting your store.
Some customers are wanted even though they aren’t on the poster. Georgio, who looks like an ordinary visitor, is wanted for 100 credits on Day 22 and Day 37. Reporting him pays out the same way as reporting a poster criminal.
You can also report customers who try to sell you contraband or stolen goods. A report like this pays 50 credits. On top of that, you get 25, 40 or 60 credits for each Mid, High or Critical contraband item, plus 4% of the value of each stolen item.
What a wrong report costs
Reporting someone who isn’t wanted counts as a wrongful report, and the penalties add up:
- Each one costs 8 Security reputation.
- A balance of 100 credits or more also incurs a 50 credit fine.
- On the third wrongful report, the slip cautions that the consequences will be severe.
- After 4, it warns that your next wrongful report will get you arrested.
- Every five days, one wrongful report is forgiven.
The run summary’s Security tab tracks Wrongful Reports. Before you hold the button, check the face against the poster.

When wanted customers visit, and what happens if you miss one
Some criminals arrive on a fixed schedule. Arthur Lafleur comes on Day 3 if you played the intro. Odin Haraldsson comes on Day 10 (he was at our window on Day 10 of a run with the intro), or on Day 2 if you skipped the intro. Lou only shows up after you buy the Business Permit.
The random arrivals begin on Day 14, or Day 5 if you skipped the intro. A day may bring a single wanted criminal, chosen from James Bailey, The Butcher, Arthur Lafleur, Li Bei Wen, Juan, John Smith and Leroy; anyone already caught is removed from the selection. Odds start at 4% on the day after the latest wanted visit, then increase by 2% per day. If 16 days pass without a visit, one is guaranteed.
Letting a wanted criminal leave without reporting them has no penalty. You only find out the next morning, when the Nightly Report says something like “One of your contacts has informed you that a wanted criminal: Arthur Lafleur, visited the Store yesterday.” Nothing else happens.
The full bounty list with every face is in our Probably Stolen wanted list, and the starting perks guide compares Model Citizen and Convict with every other perk. Lou, the biggest bounty, also drives two of the game’s endings, covered in all 17 Probably Stolen endings. For everything else, start from the complete Probably Stolen guide.
