Quick answer: Barrow Deeps is a 10-player, level 60 raid hidden beneath Mount Hyjal. It opens on 9 December 2026.
When does Barrow Deeps open?
Level 60 characters can enter Barrow Deeps starting 9 December 2026, when Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair also become available. Each raid calls for a different group size.
- Barrow Deeps, 10 players
- Hyjal Summit, 20 players
- Onyxia’s Lair, 40 players
The current schedule gives each of the three raids a weekly reset. Barrow Deeps is still unavailable, so groups should plan for its 9 December 2026 launch.
Where is Barrow Deeps?
Barrow Deeps sits inside Mount Hyjal, a new WoW Forever zone. Blizzard describes it as “Hidden beneath Kalimdor”. The raid does not have a single doorway. It has several entrances that link up through Mount Hyjal, Winterspring and Blackmaw Hold.

Blackmaw Hold is itself new. It is a level 55-60 dungeon in Azshara. That gives players heading toward the raid a route that starts outside Mount Hyjal.
The legendary prison of Barrow Deeps held Illidan Stormrage for 10,000 years; its shadowed corridors are open at last. Venture below to discover the fate of those left behind there and learn how the wardens intend to contain the threat.
Mount Hyjal also hosts Hyjal Summit, the second raid in the zone. Hyjal Summit is a larger raid for 20 players with 13 bosses.
Barrow Deeps bosses
These are the raid’s eight encounters. The list is not a run order, and some entries are groups or events rather than a single boss.
- Chillhowl
- Elder Tangleclaw
- Khalith the Dreadspinner
- Well of Sorrow
- Amethrax
- Del’lynar Songwood
- Ravus and Darlissa
- Sonya Darkhallow
Brooch of the Wardens and the Vord’anaar Prison
The Brooch of the Wardens is a Key item linked to the raid. Its game text reads “Grants access to the Vord’anaar Prison within Barrow Deeps.” The Vord’anaar Prison is a section inside the raid, and the Brooch is what lets you in.

How to prepare for Barrow Deeps
Alchemists can make four level 60 flasks tuned for this area. Each one gives +30 Stamina for 2 hours. Inside Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps, each flask also adds one extra bonus.
| Flask | Raid bonus (Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Summit, Barrow Deeps) | Reagents |
|---|---|---|
Flask of Natural Accuracy | +30 Stamina everywhere, plus 2% Hit Chance in these three areas | Death Lotus, Demonsage x12, Golden Sansam x9, Imbued Vial |
Flask of Natural Aggression | +30 Stamina everywhere, plus 2% Critical Strike Chance in these three areas | Death Lotus, Demonsage x18, Mountain Silversage x6, Imbued Vial |
Flask of Natural Precision | +30 Stamina everywhere, plus 2% reduced chance to be dodged or parried in these three areas | Death Lotus, Marefoil x12, Dreamfoil x9, Imbued Vial |
Flask of Natural Swiftness | +30 Stamina everywhere, plus 2% Haste in these three areas | Death Lotus, Marefoil x18, Icecap x6, Imbued Vial |
The effect remains after death, but only one of these flasks can be active at once. All four are Alchemy recipes that require skill 300. Each calls for one Death Lotus, an Imbued Vial, and other herbs.
Raid equipment is worth disenchanting as well. Items from Hyjal Summit or Barrow Deeps yield Malleable Essence of Nature, a Trade Goods material. Its item text reads “Acquired from disenchanting items from Hyjal Summit or Barrow Deeps. Its power can be harnessed in the creation of powerful crafted items.” The material appears in 97 profession recipes altogether: 42 Leatherworking, 27 Blacksmithing, 21 Tailoring, 6 Enchanting, and 1 Engineering.
| Profession | Recipes that use Malleable Essence of Nature | Examples |
