Rain faces a response choice in one scene with each of Final Fantasy Resonance’s eight party members. His selection grants that character a lasting stat increase, and the scene can only be played once.
Quick answer: There are eight character choice scenes, one per party member. Every answer gives a permanent stat bonus: +3 to one stat, MP +10 or HP +30, and the other answers are gone once you pick. Our picks are Stamina for Rain, MP for Fina, Strength for Lasswell, Lid and Jake, Speed for Nichol, and Magic for Sakura and Archwitch Fina. The gap between answers is small, so no pick ruins a character.
| Character | Chapter | Option 1 | Option 2 | Option 3 | Our pick |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rain | Chapter 1 | Strength +3 | Stamina +3 | Spirit +3 | Stamina +3 |
| Fina | Chapter 1 | MP +10 | Stamina +3 | Spirit +3 | MP +10 |
| Lid | Chapter 2 | Strength +3 | Magic +3 | Stamina +3 | Strength +3 |
| Nichol | Chapter 3 | HP +30 | Magic +3 | Speed +3 | Speed +3 |
| Lasswell | Chapter 4 | MP +10 | Strength +3 | Speed +3 | Strength +3 |
| Jake | Chapter 5 | HP +30 | Strength +3 | Stamina +3 | Strength +3 |
| Sakura | Chapter 5 | MP +10 | Magic +3 | Spirit +3 | Magic +3 |
| Archwitch Fina | Chapter 6 | MP +10 | Magic +3 | Spirit +3 | Magic +3 |

How character choices work
At the start of the scene, Rain gets a question along the lines of “(How should I respond to Fina?)” and three possible responses. A message afterward shows the reward, such as “Fina’s MP increased by 10!”
- The stat bonus is permanent.
- Each scene happens once in the story.
- You can’t go back and pick a different answer.
- Only the chosen stat and the character’s response are affected; the rest of the story stays the same.
The stat increases are modest compared with the rewards in each character’s substory, which are covered below. The easiest guideline is to choose a stat suited to the character’s combat role. For a reminder of what each role does, see the roles in Final Fantasy Resonance.

Add to Google Preferences →Rain (Chapter 1, Earth Shrine)
Rain’s scene comes at the entrance of the Earth Shrine, where he decides how to lead the mission.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “I’ll take point. Follow my lead.” | Strength +3 |
| “We’re only here to check that everything is in order. Be ready to fall back if you sense danger.” | Stamina +3 |
| “Cohesion is key. We need to be aware of each other’s situations.” | Spirit +3 |
Which to pick: Stamina +3. Rain serves as the Sentinel, shielding his allies while absorbing attacks; Stamina boosts his physical defense.
Fina (Chapter 1, after Siren)
Fina’s talk happens at the top of Siren’s Tower, right after the Siren fight. She says, “But I guess what matters is that I can be of better use to you two in a fight, right?”

The prompt then reads “(How should I respond to Fina?)” and lists three answers.

| Answer | Stat bonus | Fina’s reply |
|---|---|---|
| “Right, we’ll need to rely on your strength now more than ever, Fina.” | MP +10 | “Got it! Leave the arrows to me! I’ll get them no matter how far they are!” |
| “Yeah, but not everything in fighting is about being on the offense. I’ll leave the defense to you, Fina.” | Stamina +3 | “Okay, I’ll try to think of a way to best support you two!” |
| “Don’t sell yourself short. We’re a team—you’re already doing an amazing job, Fina.” | Spirit +3 | “Thanks, Rain. When you’re hurt, leave the healing to me.” |
We picked the first answer, and Fina replied “Got it! Leave the arrows to me! I’ll get them no matter how far they are!”

Right after her reply, a pop-up confirmed the bonus: “Fina’s MP increased by 10!”

Which to pick: MP +10. As the Medic, Fina spends MP on every heal; Pray, for instance, costs 14 MP. The extra capacity lets her keep healing through longer boss fights. Spirit +3 is another option: it increases her Sanctity, the stat behind her healing magic.
Lid (Chapter 2, airship deck)
Lid’s conversation takes place on the airship deck following the crash.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “No matter what happens, we’ll have your back.” | Strength +3 |
| “There might be a reason behind your brother’s change.” | Magic +3 |
| “Doesn’t matter how far away you are, siblings are still siblings.” | Stamina +3 |
Which to pick: Strength +3. Lid fights as a physical Commando, the party’s damage dealer.
Nichol (Chapter 3, Olderion)
Nichol’s talk takes place in Olderion during Chapter 3.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “Give us some pointers on strategy again. We’re counting on you.” | HP +30 |
| “We’re a proper team now, so we’ve got your back!” | Magic +3 |
| “You be you, Nichol, and don’t hold back with the suggestions.” | Speed +3 |
Which to pick: Speed +3. As the Synergist, Nichol strengthens allies; extra Speed lets him act earlier to arrange his formations and tactics. Choose Magic +3 instead if you rely on his Water magic.
Lasswell (Chapter 4, after Ignis)
Lasswell’s choice comes after the fight with Ignis.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “I noticed that your magic seems to have a little more kick to it, too.” | MP +10 |
| “That battle with Ignis was intense. I’m sure something like that’ll leave its mark on you.” | Strength +3 |
| “Seems to me like you’re moving quicker than before.” | Speed +3 |
Which to pick: Strength +3. Lasswell fills the Breaker role, using physical attacks to reduce the stagger gauge.
Jake (Chapter 5, when he joins)
Jake’s choice scene occurs during the conversation in which he joins the journey.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “Glad to have you. We’ll be counting on you.” | HP +30 |
| “Your rifles will definitely come in handy.” | Strength +3 |
| “Let’s fight for this world—together.” | Stamina +3 |
Which to pick: Strength +3. Jake is a physical Commando who fights with guns.
Sakura (Chapter 5, Mysidia)
Sakura’s conversation takes place in Mysidia, after the village chief receives the potion.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “With your magic at our side, I bet we can finally give the Sworn Six a run for their money.” | MP +10 |
| “And you’re a wise person, Sakura. You made me reflect on a lot of things. Thanks.” | Magic +3 |
| “Yep, you’ll never be bored when you’re traveling with us, I guarantee it.” | Spirit +3 |
Which to pick: Magic +3. Sakura is a Commando who inflicts magic damage. MP +10 is a good alternative if she often runs out of MP.
Archwitch Fina (Chapter 6)
Archwitch Fina’s scene comes after the white stone is obtained.
| Answer | Stat bonus |
|---|---|
| “Yeah, you look sad.” | MP +10 |
| “Of course I’m worrying about you. Why wouldn’t I?” | Magic +3 |
| “I-I mean…sort of.” | Spirit +3 |
Which to pick: Magic +3. As a Saboteur, Archwitch Fina deals damage with magic.
Substory stat rewards
Each party member also has a substory, and finishing it grants a fixed bonus listed as “Attribute Bonus” in the quest reward. There’s no choice involved. Every one adds HP +100 and MP +30 on top of the stats below.
| Substory | Character | Chapter | Extra bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| A New Leaf | Rain | Chapter 7 | Stamina +30, Strength +20 |
| The Twin Titleholders | Lasswell | Chapter 6 | Strength +30, Speed +20 |
| Shimmering Reflections | Fina | Chapter 6 | Spirit +30, Magic +20 |
| Beyond the Blue | Lid | Chapter 5 | Strength +25, Magic +25 |
| Nichol’s Duty | Nichol | Chapter 4 | Magic +30, Speed +20 |

| Token Legacy | Jake | Chapter 4 | Strength +30, Stamina +20 |
| Mysidia, Ever Blooming | Sakura | Chapter 5 | Magic +30, Spirit +20 |

Last Respite can be missed, so check the list of missables for when it closes. The full set of side quests covers where each substory starts, and the playable characters rundown explains what each party member brings to a fight.
