- BossesGeneral Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer
The Abandoned Church is a region of Valor Mortis centred on a ruined house of worship that still gives refuge from the turmoil around it. Its towers are broken and its windows smashed. The people who shelter there have turned away from faith and put their trust in firearms and steel instead. For all its decay, it remains a place of hope, heavy with whispered confidences and wrongs no one speaks aloud.
General Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer, is the boss you fight in the Abandoned Church, and Risen Soldiers are the enemies you meet on the way to him. The church's altar gives you the Rapier, which adds that weapon to your options for the rest of the run. Pick up the Cave Grotto Key and the Outward Pass Key while you are here. Both are keys and quest items you collect in this region.
The church also houses James's Iron Bench and Louis's Laboratoire, the merchants you can visit in this region.
