High Justicar Aurelius, Last of the Faithful, is a boss of Valor Mortis fought in The Outskirts. The region opens in main quest chapter 7, WITCH HUNT, so the Justicar becomes reachable from that point in the main quest onward. Breach is the nearest Lantern to the arena, which makes it the spot to rest at before the fight and the place you return to after a failed attempt.
The fight runs over 2 phases. A good share of the Justicar's moves cannot be blocked, and holding your guard against them will not protect you. These are the follow-up to its poke, its backstep, the Nephtoglobin leap, the Nephtoglobin slam, its grab and its shot. Treat each one as a signal to dodge rather than to raise your guard, and keep that habit going from the first phase into the second. The poke follow-up needs particular attention, because the opening thrust can tempt you into blocking just as the unblockable part arrives. Its attacks do not build up Ignite or Stasis. Defeating High Justicar Aurelius gives 18,000 Catalysts.
