Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Saffron in the Kindlewastes

Where wild Saffron grows, how to farm your own at a Seedbed, and everything it crafts.

Where wild Saffron grows, how to farm your own at a Seedbed, and everything it crafts.

In Enshrouded’s hot desert zones, gather Saffron by hand. This rare herb is a level 25 Common material with a stack limit of 250, and its in-game description reads, “A rare herbal plant that can be found in hot climates. It’s used to create vibrant golden-yellow dyes.” Most plants are concentrated in one region, with a few growing elsewhere.

Quick answer: Search the Kindlewastes, a desert of red rock and sand, and interact with each Saffron plant. A plant yields 1 or 2.

Where to find wild Saffron

The red-rock desert of the Kindlewastes contains nearly all wild Saffron, while a small number of plants appear in the Nomad Highlands.

Use fast travel to reach the Nomad Highlands’ Ancient Spire. Bring up the world map, choose its spire marker, and teleport to it.

From the spire, take a glider toward the Kindlewastes, where red rock meets sand. Continue your flight down to the dunes.

Cross the sand, interacting with every Saffron plant along your path. Its pickup notification shows on the screen’s left, and the plant’s yield goes directly into your bag.

Travel over the dunes, collecting every plant you spot. Since each provides 1 or 2 Saffron, search a broad area of sand until you reach the quantity you need.

How to farm Saffron at a Seedbed

Once you have at least one Saffron, you can grow a steady supply at your base instead of walking the desert each time. You will need a Seedbed and some Fertilised Farm Soil.

Build a Seedbed at your base.
Craft Saffron Seedlings at the Seedbed. The recipe takes 1 Saffron and 1 Fertilised Farm Soil and produces 5 Saffron Seedlings in 180 seconds.
Put the seedlings into farm soil, then gather them after they mature. A cultivated plant yields 1 or 2 Saffron, matching the yield from a wild plant.
