Quick answer: Phantom Blade Zero has 66 Steam achievements. Most come from story progress, boss kills, side quests, upgrades, and using specific weapons. “Defy Destiny” unlocks once you have all the others.
Each achievement also has a trophy grade in the game. There are 40 Bronze, 22 Silver, 3 Gold, and 1 Platinum. Steam hides 31 of them until you unlock them, and all 31 are story beats and boss kills. Difficulty does not affect any Phantom Blade Zero achievement
No achievement description mentions a difficulty. That means you can earn every one of them on Wayfarer, Pathbreaker, Hellwalker, or 66 Days. See the difficulty modes guide to pick a setting.
The most common achievement so far is The Heart’s Journey, at 91.3 percent. Heavenfall Strike is the rarest at 7.6 percent, not counting Defy Destiny. Defy Destiny is the Platinum-grade achievement for unlocking the other 65, and it sits at 4.5 percent.

These unlock as the main story moves forward. Steam hides all of them except The Heart’s Journey. Two of them are Gold: With Heart and Blood and All Dreams Must End.

Secrets at the Heart of the Lake
- Find Firefly’s Memory Flowers, then enter Dusk’s Refuge.
- Find a way into the Heart of the Lake and search there for the ritual site.
- Gather all four Acolytes’ masks, then make your way into the Forbidden Ruins.
- At Crimson Manor, locate the Crystal Eyeball [Yang], then fit it into Puppet No. 99.
- Explore the canyon to find Dusk.
Bloodline Awakening
Find all five Lóng Pillars and complete their trials. After that, the quest sends you back to the Lóng Pillar twice, first after new discoveries and then to investigate.
Secrets of the Baishan Sect
- Search the Mandate Encampment for the Baishan Sect Leader.
- Examine Bi Taotao’s body, then defeat Bi Taotao’s puppet form.
- Find Junior Sister Meng at the mountain lodge.
The Journey Home
- Clear the Smuggler’s Tunnel and return to Old Man Gen.
- Go back to Village of Lu and tell him about the passage.
- Give the Wooden Comb to Old Man Gen at the Village of Lu Gate.
- Find his old house in Pangzhen’s backstreets to learn where his wife is.
- Find Old Man Gen in Pangzhen.
Young Master Lan
- After clearing the Smuggler’s Tunnel, return to Lan Shaodi and tell him the path is clear.
- Meet Lan Shaodi at his manor in Pangzhen.
- Touch any bell, then return to the Lan Manor to investigate.
- Go to the Lan Manor and talk things over with Lan Shaodi.
A Severed Mindseal
The friendly Shadow Warden needs a Primal Stone from each of three regions: Weeping Creek Valley, Pangzhen, and the Crimson Forest. Find a stone in each region and give it to the friendly Shadow Warden in that same region.
Flesh Lily, Apprentice Healer, and A Healer’s Mercy
- Flesh Lily: Find the Flesh Lily for Yu’er and check on her father. After reaching Pangzhen, return to escort her home, then hand her the Flesh Lily.
- Apprentice Healer: Find the three herbs from Yu’er’s medicinal recipe in Weeping Creek Valley and bring them to her.
- A Healer’s Mercy: Go to the spot marked in Record of the Lost Thieves and treat their wounds, then tell Yu’er.
Quick Hand’s Request
Lost and Found is the rarest side quest achievement at 9.7 percent. Collect every treasure in five regions: Crimson Forest, Village of Lu, Pangzhen, Meigu Lake, and Mirage Estate. Then deliver each region’s set to the merchant Quick Hand Zhang. All ten objectives, five collections and five deliveries, have to be done.
Heart of the Banyan
This quest has one objective. Find the Human-Faced Banyan Trees.

Every achievement here is visible. Tempering improves weapons and Phantom Edges. Sha-Chi Ambers, Memory Flowers, and Blackstones are world collectibles. Accessories count as equipment; there are 66 total, but Collector’s Notes requires only 30.

Item descriptions detail the effects of several weapons. Jagged Steel’s slashes cause Bleeding, potentially resulting in Blood Loss. A drink activates the Fanatic’s Broken Blade, sending it hurtling toward faraway enemies; its attacks lose strength as the distance grows. Soft Snake Sword turns aside incoming enemy strikes. Outlaw Warblade can siphon foes’ blood to replenish HP, or use your HP to carve through enemies. Infernal Rouge is what Sanguine becomes through Tempering; its description reads: “A legendary weapon of the Bastion of Mó, concealing secrets tied to Soul’s origins. It can trigger Bloodline Rebirth and Bloodline Awakening.”

Heavenfall Strike is the rarest achievement in the game after Defy Destiny. For A Friend from Thin Air, any of these three Phantom Edges works. Each one’s description says it summons allies.
- Kuye Temple Prayer Beads: Village of Lu; nearest bell: Smuggler’s Tunnel Entrance. Calls forth Kuye Temple’s deceased disciples.
- Puppeteer’s Bell: Village of Lu; nearest bell: Broken Puppet Pit Bottom. Gives you command over Puppets of every kind.
- Swordsman’s Summon: Mandate Encampment, closest bell Tower Rear Exit. Calls the Mandate’s disciples to fight.
How to unlock Defy Destiny
Defy Destiny is the game’s only Platinum-grade achievement, and it unlocks when you hold all 65 other achievements. Boss achievements and all story achievements except The Heart’s Journey stay hidden until earned.
