Grind Bones at the Grinding Stones after the Alchemist moves into your base, then spend Bonemeal on farming, spells, and gear.

Bonemeal is a crafting material you make from Bones at the Grinding Stones. The game describes it as “Useful for alchemical and magical purposes.” It feeds into farming, spells, armor, weapons, and more. No enemy drops it.

Quick answer: Grind Bones at the Grinding Stones. Every 2 Bones makes 3 Bonemeal in 1 minute. Build the Grinding Stones through the Alchemist after he moves into your base.

Build the Grinding Stones to make Bonemeal

In-game, the station reads: “A simple setup for basic grinding work. Especially good for hard ingredients.” Follow the steps below to set it up.

Load Bones into the station. Every 2 Bones produces 3 Bonemeal, taking 1 minute each. The Grinding Stones keep working through the queue, so collect the finished Bonemeal from the output when it is ready.

Animals and skeletons provide Bones. You can also use the Grinding Stones to make Flour, Coal Powder, Fossilized Bone Dust, and Chitin Powder.
