The Albaneve Summits are the snowy mountain region in the north-east of Embervale, with the Veilwater Basin to the west, the Nomad Highlands and the Kindlewastes to the south and Cinder’s Cradle to the north. Eight Balefire forts circle its innermost mountain, Howling Peak, and the region holds two of the Flame’s boss fights: the Fell Cyclops in its main Elixir Well and the Fell Dragon Youngling on Howling Peak.
Quick answer: The Flame’s main quest “Ignite The Snowy Mountaintops” takes you through a cave passage into the mountains; climb the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire to finish it, and the spire becomes your fast travel point for the region.
How to get to the Albaneve Summits
The Flame starts “Ignite The Snowy Mountaintops”, the main quest that opens the region. Its first step reads:
The Flame has told you about a new path to the snow-covered mountains. To reach this new frontier, you have to pass through a cavernous passage first.
Travel through the cave passage and proceed into the mountains to spread your fire and call upon a new dawn!
Once you are through the passage, the quest sends you to the region’s Ancient Spire:

Extend the Flame’s presence by igniting the Ancient Spire here so the light can guide you on your quest in these unknown lands!

With the spire lit, the Flame’s next quest, “Ignite The Coldest Elixir Well”, warns you about the cold:
You’ve lit the Flame atop the Ancient Spire. You learned that, despite their remoteness, the frozen barrens did not remain untouched. Northern soldiers expanded their territory here and built Elixir Wells tainting the mountain’s snow and archaic inhabitants.
You must seek the main Elixir Well and destroy the corrupted evil hiding within to reclaim the mountains!
Don’t go unprepared. You will need warm clothes, food, or torches to provide warmth in the harsh cold. Wool and warm padding kits would be useful for crafting warm armor.

The Blacksmith is curious about the Albaneve Summits region. The North once expanded there to build more Elixir Well and crafted weapons from the local materials to protect them. These materials can only be smelted with the heat produced by a proper forge.
Find the forge and claim its heat source! This will enable you to craft a blast furnace.
The forge is the Forge of Obsidia, about 960 m north-east of the spire; the full quest is in how to get the Blast Furnace, and the region’s Obsidian is covered in where to get Obsidian in the Albaneve Summits.
“The Dragons’ Last Breath” starts at a dragon skeleton:
You’ve found what seems to be a piece of a treasure map while exploring the remains of a dragon skeleton! There’s inconspicuous writing on the back of the parchment.
Perhaps there are more pieces like this one in similar places. If you find all of them, you can combine them into a reconstructed treasure map!

You’ve followed the map to a hidden temple behind a waterfall, but its treasure lies behind a locked door.
Lights above the door indicate that it can be opened by a mechanism. Figure out how to open the door to obtain the treasure!
The treasure is Dragon’s Wing, a bow, in a gold chest about 30 m east of Forgotten Temple. A note about Gateway Outpost “Alba” starts “Missing Socks”:
You’ve found a note that described a secret chest on the roof of Gateway Outpost “Alba”.
Behind the gong on the roof there should be a small room only accessible by jumping and reaching a secret door. Find the room and open the chest inside!

The Fell Cyclops Head upgrades the Flame from level 6 to 7. For the Fell Dragon Youngling, “Slaying The Corrupted Beast” (recommended level 34) has you light the 8 Balefires first; their spots are in all 8 Balefire locations. Its last step reads:
You woke the beast by lighting all balefires! It’s time to end things. Reclaiming the Albaneve Summits and upgrading the Flame with the beast’s head will enable you to build safely inside the cold!
Reach the top of Howling Peak and challenge the beast to a fight! The creature is strong, but not invincible. Some of its attacks can be parried.
Howling Peak is best reached by passing through Everfrore Keep.
The Fell Dragon Youngling Head upgrades the Flame from level 7 to 8; the other materials are in Flame Altar upgrade requirements for every Flame level, and the bosses of every region are in bosses in order.
