The Mountains is a named place on The Blue Gate, in the upper right of the in-game map. Data Vault sits about 60 m away, with Headhouse and Traffic Tunnel each about 120 m off.

In an ordinary round, The Mountains has 7 loot container spots: 2 Rocketeer Husks, 2 Wasp Husks, an Ammo Box, a Raider Cache and a Crashed ARC Probe. Most of these are possible spots, and a round fills only some of them. An ARC Surveyor can spawn here, though not every spawn point is used each round. There is also one area for small flying machines and one for large ground machines, and which machine shows up varies from round to round.

The nearest way out is the Warehouse Airshaft, about 140 m away in a straight line, followed by Prefab Hatch at about 250 m and Lucky Hatch at about 320 m. The Blue Gate has more than one level, so the walk can be longer. Cold Snap rounds bring 7 container spots of their own here, and Husk Graveyard rounds have 4.
