The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are the best iPhone devices Apple ever built. But that doesn’t mean these devices won’t ever give you any trouble. It has only been a few days since the launch of the 2018 iPhones, and community forums are already filled with various problems users are facing with the new iPhone models.
Front camera takes terrible selfies
Apparently, the front camera on iPhone XS and XS Max take terrible pictures because of the aggressive smoothness it does to your skin. Apple intentionally designed the camera software on XS and XS Max this way. And it’s not good. Check out this Reddit thread if you don’t believe us.
4G/LTE connectivity issues
Even though iPhone XS and XS Max come with a Cat 16 Gigabit LTE chip on-board, the 4G/LTE performance on these devices has been terrible for many users. The phone would take forever to load web pages, and sometimes wouldn’t even let you make calls when on LTE. Slow WiFi speed
Slow WiFi speed is a problem on almost every iPhone, and the XS or XS Max are no different. What’s unique to iPhone XS is that even a 5GHz WiFi network performs poor on the newer iPhones. Check out this Apple Community thread about the poor WiFi reception on a 5GHz network.

Freezing at Lock Screen
Some users have been unable to use their new iPhone XS or XS max due to a weird issue that causes their devices to freeze at the lock screen. The issue occurs on the lock screen only when trying to unlock the device. Thankfully, re-installing the iOS software on the fixes the problem.

Messages app shows “Number changed to Primary” label
The Messages app on iPhone XS and XS Max shows “Number changed to Primary” label for each message you send or receive. This is due to the Dual SIM thing on iPhone XS and XS Max, but dual SIM isn’t enabled on the devices yet, and the repeat show of the label has been driving users nuts. Thankfully, a quick fix to the problem is to reset iMessage by removing/adding your phone number from iMessage and FaceTime.

iPhone XS and XS Max won’t charge with Belkin PowerHouse
If you’ve got yourself a Belkin PowerHouse for your iPhone X or 8/8 Plus, the bad news is it won’t work with the new iPhone XS and XS Max. It has been reported by multiple users, you can read more about it here.
iPhone XS won’t turn on
It’s a common iPhone problem. We have had it on some of our previous iPhone models and the iPhone XS and XS Max seem to be affected by the same.
