Birth Stones is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox, and the game gives you only the name: no list of stones, no months, no hint about what it wants. Our reading is simple. Pick one birthstone, wear its colour from head to toe in a shiny material, and let the crown on your hair carry the gem itself. That idea is ours, not a rule the game sets. Below are two complete looks we built in Freeplay Mode, ruby and sapphire, with our own picture for each step. Every piece and material used is free.
Quick answer: Pick one stone and wear its colour head to toe: the plum short dress in red Glitter with gold lace and a red-gem gold crown for ruby, or the white strapless mini in blue Metallic with silver gloves for sapphire.
Birth Stones outfit ideas in Dress To Impress
Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits in the Dressing Room, what it looks like and the exact palette spot we used. Both dresses are on the short-dress shelf, whose bottom row holds three short dresses on busts: a pink one with a heart cut-out on the left, a plum one in the middle and a white strapless one on the right. The gloves are on the shelf on the wall to its left. The hair in both looks is the long curls with a crown from Lana’s Salon (Feminine tab, 3rd card); its last part, “4/4: Gem”, is the stone in the crown.
A new piece always works the same way: click it once and its colour panel opens at part 1, with a floating “Put On” label beside the piece. For each part, choose a colour on Palette and a material on the “+” tab while the piece previews, using the arrows beside the part name (> moves on, < steps back). Then click “Put On”. A piece you already wear is recoloured from the Wearing panel by clicking its picture.
Look 1: Ruby, red Glitter short dress with gold lace
Our idea: a cut ruby in a gold setting. Deep reds with sparkle everywhere, gold only on the trim and the crown, and a red gem at the front of the crown.

The black top and black shorts on the character are the base body, not a piece. They cannot be taken off, only covered, and the dress covers them fully.

Jewel raises one hand to the collar, which puts the eye right on the neckline and its gold trim.

The finished look is a bright red glitter short dress with gold trim along the neckline and hem and a red band at the neck, long red curls, and a gold crown with a red gem at the front. The Wearing panel shows only two pictures, the hair and the dress, and the look is barefoot.
From the back, the long red curls cover most of the dress, so the crown and the dress colour carry the look on the runway.

Look 2: Sapphire, blue Metallic strapless mini with silver gloves
Our idea: a sapphire set in silver. One deep blue for the dress, the cuffs and the gem, and icy silver for the gloves, the hair and the tiara.
The black base top and shorts show again here. They are part of the body, and the strapless mini covers them fully.

The Wearing panel now shows three pictures: the hair, the dress and the gloves.

The finished look is a bright sapphire blue strapless mini, silver gloves with a blue glitter cuff, long icy pale blue and silver curls, and a silver tiara with a dark blue gem at the front. It is barefoot too. The picture below was taken before the pose changed, so it still shows Jewel from Look 1.

In Sleek, the gloved arm swings out to the side and the blue cuff shows clearly against the silver.

From the back, the pale curls fall past the waist over the blue dress.

Add to Google Preferences →Why these looks read as Birth Stones
A gemstone is one strong colour that catches the light, so the look should be one stone’s colour across the dress, hair and accessories, in a shiny material such as Glitter or Metallic. One metal keeps it reading like a set jewel: gold for ruby, silver for sapphire. The crown’s “4/4: Gem” part in the same colour is the stone itself, and it is the detail that says birthstone rather than just red or blue. For reference, ruby is the July birthstone and sapphire the September one; the game does not show any month list, so that is general knowledge, not something it asks for.
How to recolour a piece and set its material
- Click the piece on its shelf, or its picture in the Wearing panel if you already wear it.
- Pick the part with the arrows beside the part name (“1/5: Dress”, “4/4: Gem” and so on).
- Choose its colour on the Palette tab (the Default palette; columns are hues, rows run light to dark, row 8 runs white to black).
- Open the “+” tab and click the material, such as Glitter or Metallic.
- Repeat for every part, then click “Put On” for a new piece.
To take a piece off, click the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel. Material tiles with a gold star are star-locked, so leave them alone if you have no stars. The material list carries the line “Some materials only work with higher qualities.”

Other birthstones with the same method
Any other stone works the same way: choose its colour for every part of the dress and hair, give it a shiny material, pick gold or silver for the trim and crown, and set “4/4: Gem” to the stone’s colour. We built only ruby and sapphire, so we have no pictures or palette spots for emerald, amethyst or the others.
Poses for Birth Stones
We used Jewel for the ruby look and Sleek for the sapphire look, both free under Solo in the Poses menu. Jewel suits any look with detail at the neckline. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.
Building it in Freeplay Mode first
Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to try a stone’s colours, walk the look down the Freeplay Runway and check that the gem and the metal show. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette spots and which materials to go to when Birth Stones comes up in a real round. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island, Summer Cruise, Favorite Show, Fairytale, Cotton Candy Couture and Cyberpunk outfit ideas.
How a theme round works
We have not had Birth Stones as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes (Plaid Fashion, Birds of Paradise and Patterned tights). On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it, and the icon at the top centre opens a hint card for the theme. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players with the stars each earned, followed by an “Intermission” countdown of about a minute.
The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Birth Stones to roll.
What we have not checked
These looks have not walked a real Birth Stones round, so there is no score, star count or vote for them. The game shows no list of which stone goes with which month. We added no shoes, makeup, tights or bags, and we did not build emerald or amethyst looks. Both were built with 0 stars and 246 pink cash, and nothing was bought.
FAQ
What does Birth Stones mean in Dress To Impress?
The game gives only the name. We read it as dressing as a gemstone: one stone’s colour across the whole look, a shiny material, and a crown with a gem in that colour.
Can I do Birth Stones without VIP?
Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece, colour and material used here worked on it. Glitter and Metallic are free materials; tiles with a gold star are star-locked.
How do I make the crown gem match my outfit?
Use the long curls with a crown from Lana’s Salon (Feminine tab, 3rd card). Click the hair’s picture in the Wearing panel, step to “4/4: Gem” and give it the stone’s colour with Glitter. “3/4: Crown” is the crown itself: gold or silver with Metallic.
Which birthstone colours work best?
We built ruby (deep reds with gold) and sapphire (deep blue with silver), and both read clearly on the runway because each sticks to one strong colour and one metal. Other stones follow the same method, but we have not built them.
Can I pick the Birth Stones theme?
Only with Theme Props, which cost Robux (the “Buy More” button shows 75). We bought none and saw no free ones, so the theme has to come up on its own.
