Defeating him gives The Fallen, number 2 of the Tarot, plus the spell Holy Cross and The Fallen's Key. Holy Cross costs 50 MP. Rose hurls a tainted cross that harms enemies in its path, and it flies back to her once it has gone a set distance or struck a wall. With The Fallen won, go to Abandoned Sewers in Paris Streets to pick up the Arcane Whip ability.
Holy Cross has 3 Works of Mercy: find 3 different whip-type weapons, kill 5 enemies with one cross (they do not have to fall at once), and kill 10 enemies with a whip attack. Each one finished earns a Blessing to spend on a Gift. The Gifts add a second cross, more damage the farther the cross is from Rose, and mana back for each enemy hit when you catch the returning cross. Clues to The Fallen wait in Ruined Market and Path of the Rat.
