Allows you to sacrifice Health when Nephtoglobin is depleted.
Amber
Equivalent Exchange is an Amber you fit into an Amber Slot at a Lantern, where it works as a passive effect. Once your Nephtoglobin runs dry, it lets you sacrifice Health in its place, so an empty Nephtoglobin pool stops being the end of the matter and your own Health becomes the fallback. That trade suits players who lean on Nephtoglobin and would rather pay in Health than go without. The Amber has 1 rank, so the version you pick up is the one you keep for the rest of the run.
You get Equivalent Exchange in the Vale of Wrath, where it is dropped by a Risen Sapeur. The closest Lantern to that spot is Wolfsbane Field, which makes it the natural place to rest before heading out to face the Risen Sapeur. Once you have the Amber, return to a Lantern such as Wolfsbane Field to equip it in a free Amber Slot.
