Amber
Glass Soldier trades defence for offence. While it sits in an Amber Slot, your melee attacks hit harder, but you also take more damage from enemies in return. Equip it at a Lantern. The Amber has 3 ranks, and picking up another copy after the first raises it by a rank.
In the Fallen Village, Glass Soldier sits in a chest, with Orchard as the nearest Lantern. The Outskirts offer it around the Market Square Lantern in a chest, and Volunteers in the same area drop it as well. In the Fortress, the Eternal Guardsman drops it, and Courtyard is the nearest Lantern. Because the Outskirts give you both a chest and an enemy drop from the same Lantern, that region is a practical place to work the Amber up through its ranks.
