The Gold Boulder is a boulder you break with a pickaxe for Gold. The Flint Pickaxe will not break it, because its tooltip stops at Sulfur, Copper, Coal, Flint and Stone, so you need a better pickaxe. Aim at a boulder and the prompt shows its name with a pickaxe icon. If that icon is red and crossed, the tool in your hand cannot break it.
