Midnight Circus is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox, and the game gives you nothing but the name. We read it as a circus after dark and built two of its stars in Freeplay Mode: a ringmaster in a red coat with gold ruffles and a black top hat, and an acrobat in sparkly deep purple with gold bands. Every step has our own picture, and every piece, colour, material and pose used is free, so neither look needs VIP. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.
Quick answer: For a ringmaster, recolour the ruffled coat set red with gold Metallic ruffles and add the black top hat from the Halloween circle. For an acrobat, wear the Halloween crop top and pleated skirt in deep purple Glitter with gold bands.
Midnight Circus outfit ideas in Dress To Impress
Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits in the Dressing Room, what it looks like and the exact heart we used on the Default palette. Both looks keep the long curls with a small crown and gem that we were already wearing, only recoloured, and both are barefoot. A night palette carries the theme: black, red and gold for the ringmaster, deep purple and gold for the acrobat.
Look 1 (Ringmaster): red coat and black top hat
Two pieces make it: the ruffled coat set from the short-dress shelf and the black top hat from the Halloween circle. Both have many parts, so one piece can carry red, gold and black at once.
The black top and black shorts that show now are the base body, not a piece. They cannot be taken off, only covered. The coat covers the top, but the black shorts stay visible under the open coat in the finished look.

Only the coat set came on for us. It arrived in a pale cream with pink ruffles, colours left from an earlier build; they all change on the runway.

The Wearing panel now shows three pictures: the hair, the coat set and the hat.

Set “2/6: Sleeve Bows” to gold (column 9, row 4) with Metallic, then “3/6: Ruffles” to the same gold with Metallic. The cuffs and lapels turn golden yellow.

Set “4/6: Top” to black (column 9, row 8) with Silk. This is the small crop top under the coat, and it turns black.

Set “5/6: Top Ruffles” to gold with Metallic and “6/6: Top Tiny Bows” to red with Silk. That gives the black top a gold ruffle along its edge and a small red bow.

Set “3/7: Swirls & Frame”, “4/7: Feathers”, “6/7: Lace” and “7/7: Painting” to gold with Metallic, and “5/7: Roses” to red with Glitter. These parts sit on the side of the hat away from the camera while you work, so check them in the finished look.

Set “4/4: Gem” to red with Glitter, so the gold crown carries a red gem.

The finished look is a red coat with golden-yellow ruffled cuffs and lapels over a black crop top with a gold ruffle and a small red bow. The black top hat sits tilted on the curls with a red ribbon and roses and gold feathers and trim, and the gold crown with its red gem shows just in front of it.

Up close, the gold ruffle and the red bow on the black top show clearly. The black base shorts show below it.

From the back, the long black curls cover most of the coat, with red at the hem and the black hat with gold feathers on top.

Look 2 (Acrobat): purple Glitter two-piece with gold
One click gives you both pieces: a mannequin in the Halloween circle wears a crop top over a chained pleated skirt, and putting on the top brings the skirt with it. Deep purple Glitter against gold Metallic gives the midnight sparkle.

It put on BOTH the crop top and the chained pleated skirt. The Wearing panel now shows the hair, the crop top and the skirt.

Set “2/3: Preview” to gold (column 9, row 4) with Metallic; the band at the hem turns gold. Set “3/3: Preview” to gold with Metallic too, which picks out the small details on the top in gold.

Set “2/3: Preview” to gold with Metallic; the waistband turns gold.

“3/3: Preview” is the chains. On gold with Metallic they stand out as gold loops across the skirt.

We set them to deep purple with Glitter instead, so the chains melt into the skirt and the gold waistband is the only band on it. Keep them gold if you want more sparkle.

Keep “3/4: Crown” gold with Metallic and set “4/4: Gem” to violet (column 3, row 5) with Glitter.

The finished look is a sparkly deep purple crop top and pleated skirt, each with a gold band, purple curls with black streaks and a gold crown with a violet gem.

From the back, the purple curls fall past the waist and hide most of the two-piece.

Add to Google Preferences →Why these two looks fit Midnight Circus
A ringmaster and an acrobat are the two circus figures most people picture first, and each has a clear colour story. The ringmaster is red, gold and black: a bright coat, a black top hat and lots of gold trim. The acrobat is a short, sparkly two-piece in a deep night colour with gold, plus a pose that looks mid-trick. Keeping both looks to a dark palette with gold is what makes the circus feel like midnight. The same Halloween-circle crop top and pleated skirt are all black in our Trad Goth looks, the coat set is red and cream in our Modern Royalty looks, and for more deep purple Glitter see our Galactic Glam looks.
How to recolour a piece and set its material
- Click the piece on its shelf, stand or mannequin, then “Put On” when the label shows. Once you wear it, click its picture in the Wearing panel to open its colour panel again.
- Pick the part with the arrows beside the part name (“1/6: Preview”, “2/7: Ribbon”, “3/4: Crown” and so on). Each part takes its own colour and material.
- Open the “+” tab and click the material. We used Silk on the coat, the hat and the hair, Metallic on every gold part, and Glitter on the hat’s roses, the acrobat pieces and both gems.
- Choose its colour on the Palette tab (the Default palette: columns are hues, rows run light to dark, and the bottom row runs from white to black).
- Repeat for every part. The colours stay on the piece after you close the panel.
To take a piece off, click the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel. The Patterns tab sits next to Palette; we did not use it for these looks.

Poses for Midnight Circus
We used Velvet for the ringmaster and Magica for the acrobat, both free under Solo in the Poses menu. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.
Building it in Freeplay Mode first
Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to find the top hat behind the podium, step through all thirteen parts of the coat and hat, and check the look from the front and the back. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette hearts and which materials to go to when Midnight Circus comes up in a real round. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island, Summer Cruise, Favorite Show, Fairytale, Cotton Candy Couture, Cyberpunk, Birth Stones, Y2K Popstar, Video Game Character, Top Model, Fast Food Mascot, DJ, Award Show, Drama Queen, Instagram Model, Day of the Dead, Malibu Dream, Stained Glass, Summer Camp, Modern Royalty, Trad Goth, Wonderland, Trip To London, Pop Art Princess, Sugar And Spice, Paranormal Investigator, Cursed Lagoon, Complementary Colors, Galactic Glam, Dancer, Jellyfish, Garden Tea Party and Enchanted Curse outfit ideas.
How a theme round works
We have not had Midnight Circus as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players, followed by an “Intermission” countdown.
The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Midnight Circus to roll.
What we have not checked
No round we joined rolled Midnight Circus, so these looks have not walked a real round: there is no score, star count or vote for them. We saw no whip, cane, clown or leotard piece, and we did not try the cat-whisker headpiece on the acrobat’s mannequin. Both looks were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.
FAQ
Can you do the Midnight Circus theme without VIP?
Yes. Every piece, colour, material and pose in both looks is free; we built them with no VIP, no Robux and 0 stars.
Where is the top hat in Dress To Impress?
In the Halloween circle, on a small bust at the front of the podium, next to the black cat sitting on a pumpkin. It is free. If your character is standing in front of it, turn the camera until the bust shows.
Where is the ringmaster coat?
It is the sage green ruffled coat set in the middle of the top row on the short-dress shelf. Recolour the coat red, its ruffles and bows gold Metallic and its small top black.
What colours work for Midnight Circus?
Night colours with gold. We used red (column 1, row 6), gold (column 9, row 4) with Metallic and black (column 9, row 8) for the ringmaster, and deep purple (column 3, row 7) with Glitter plus gold for the acrobat.
Which pose should you use?
Velvet, an easy standing pose, suits the ringmaster. For the acrobat, Magica puts the arms out to the sides with one leg lifted, like the finish of a trick. Both are free Solo poses.
