Two free Malibu Dream looks, with exact shelf spots, palette squares, materials and poses for each piece.

Two free Malibu Dream looks, with exact shelf spots, palette squares, materials and poses for each piece.

Malibu Dream is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox. The game gives only the theme’s name, and we have not had it as a round yet, so the reading here is our own suggestion: a sunny beach-doll look with one bright hot pink piece, white or aqua for the rest, long light curls and a cheerful pose. Below are two complete looks we built in Freeplay Mode, a hot pink strapless mini with a white sun hat and an aqua cami with hot pink shorts, with our own picture for each step. Every piece, face, hairstyle and material used is free. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.

Quick answer: Go bright and beachy: a hot pink Glitter strapless mini with a white sun hat and platinum curls, or an aqua cami with hot pink shorts and lavender-pink curls, finished with the Sparkle or Daisy pose.

Malibu Dream outfit ideas in Dress To Impress

Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits, what it looks like and the exact spot we used on the Default palette. Both looks use the same face and the same long curls, so the face is written once, in Look 1. Both looks are barefoot: we wore no shoes, and we did not look for sunglasses, a bag or beach props.

Look 1: Hot pink beach doll

Our idea: one sparkly hot pink dress, a big white sun hat and long platinum curls. The dress comes from the short-dress shelf in the Dressing Room and the hat from the boho mannequin a little further along the same wall; the face and hair are from Lana’s Salon.

Start with the face. In Lana’s Salon, sit at one of the vanity mirrors, open the “Feminine” tab and click the second card in the third row, the soft glam full face: long lashes, pink blush and glossy pink lips. We kept it for both looks.
If you are wearing an earlier outfit, open the Wearing panel and take each piece off with the heart X under its picture, until only the hair is left.

Only the hair left in the Wearing panel.

The black top and black shorts that show now are the base body, not a piece. They cannot be taken off, only covered, and the dress covers them.

In the Dressing Room, find the short-dress shelf. Its bottom row holds a pink heart mini on the left, a plum dress in the middle and a white strapless mini on the right. Click the white strapless mini: the panel opens at “1/1: Preview” with a “Put On” label beside the piece. Click “Put On”.

Do not click another stand while a dress is only previewing: on our first try that dropped the dress. Only “Put On” keeps it.

From the same spot, click the wide-brimmed sun hat on the boho mannequin further right. It is straw-coloured on the mannequin, and the panel opens at “1/3: Hat”. Close the panel: the hat stays on.

The Wearing panel now shows three pictures: the hair, the hat and the dress. Its pictures keep each piece’s original colours after you recolour them, so go by the character, not the panel.

Walk to the Freeplay Runway, open the Wearing panel and click the dress’s picture. On “1/1: Preview”, choose hot pink (column 2, row 4) on Palette and Glitter on the “+” tab.

Step to “2/3: Ribbon” and set it to hot pink (column 2, row 4) with Silk. From the front the ribbon shows only as a small pink touch at the top of the hat.

Step to “3/3: Lace” and set it to white with Silk, so the lace edge of the brim matches the hat.

The finished look is a sparkly hot pink strapless mini, a big white sun hat with a lace edge and long platinum curls over the shoulders.

Look 2: Surf cute

Our idea: a casual beach set, an aqua cropped cami with a small pink heart and bright hot pink shorts, with soft lavender-pink curls. The cami is on the tops shelf beside the boho mannequin, and the shorts are on the shelf facing the short-dress shelf.

Open the Wearing panel and take off the dress and the sun hat with the heart X under each, so only the hair is left. The base body’s black top and shorts show again until the new pieces cover them.

Find the tops shelf on the right wall, beside the boho mannequin with the sun hat. On the bottom row, the third piece from the left is a white cami with thin pink straps.

Why these looks read as Malibu Dream

Our reading of Malibu Dream is a bright, sunny beach-doll look, so keep one piece a strong hot pink and let white or aqua carry the rest. That way the pink stands out instead of everything competing. Long, light curls, platinum or a soft pastel, keep the look sunny, and a cheerful pose such as Sparkle or Daisy finishes it. A sun hat adds an instant beach touch to a simple dress. This is plain styling advice; we have not seen how either look scores in a real round.

How to recolour a piece and set its material

  1. Click the piece on its shelf or stand, or its picture in the Wearing panel if you already wear it.
  2. Pick the part with the arrows beside the part name (“1/3: Hat”, “2/3: Ribbon” and so on).
  3. Open the “+” tab and click the material, such as Silk or Glitter.
  4. Choose its colour on the Palette tab (the Default palette; columns are hues, rows run light to dark, row 8 runs from white to black).
  5. Repeat for every part. For a new piece, click “Put On” when the label shows; if it does not, closing the panel while the piece previews keeps it on.

To take a piece off, click the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel. Material tiles with a gold star are star-locked, so leave them alone if you have no stars.

Poses for Malibu Dream

We used Sparkle for the hot pink sun hat look and Daisy for the aqua and pink beach set, both free under Solo in the Poses menu. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.

Building it in Freeplay Mode first

Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to try colours and materials calmly, sit at the vanity and the hair chairs without rushing, walk the look down the Freeplay Runway and check how it reads. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette spots and which materials to go to when Malibu Dream comes up in a real round. For another sunny theme, our Deserted Island outfit ideas use a straw hat and a tropical party dress. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island, Summer Cruise, Favorite Show, Fairytale, Cotton Candy Couture, Cyberpunk, Birth Stones, Y2K Popstar, Video Game Character, Top Model, Fast Food Mascot, DJ, Award Show, Drama Queen, Instagram Model, Day of the Dead, Stained Glass, Summer Camp, Modern Royalty, Trad Goth and Wonderland outfit ideas.

How a theme round works

We have not had Malibu Dream as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it, and other themes we saw came with a short hint card. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players with the stars each earned, followed by an “Intermission” countdown of about a minute.

The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Malibu Dream to roll.

What we have not checked

No round we joined rolled Malibu Dream, so these looks have not walked a real Malibu Dream round: there is no score, star count or vote for them, and we have not seen a hint card for the theme. We wore no shoes and did not look for sunglasses, a bag or beach props. Both looks were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.

FAQ

What counts as Malibu Dream in Dress To Impress?

The game gives only the theme’s name. We read it as a sunny beach-doll look: hot pink with white or aqua, long light curls and a cheerful pose. That reading is our suggestion, not a rule from the game.

Can I do Malibu Dream without VIP?

Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece, face, hairstyle, colour and material used here worked on it, with no lock or price on any of them. Silk and Glitter are free materials; tiles with a gold star are star-locked.

Which colours work for Malibu Dream?

For Look 1 we used hot pink (column 2, row 4) Glitter on the dress, white (column 1, row 8) Silk on the hat with a hot pink ribbon, and cream (column 9, row 2) Silk on the hair. For Look 2, aqua (column 5, row 4) Silk on the cami, hot pink Silk on the shorts and pastel pink (column 2, row 2) Silk on the hair.

Where are the sun hat, the cami and the shorts?

The sun hat is on the boho mannequin beside the tops shelf. The cami is on the bottom row of that tops shelf, third from the left. The shorts are the second item on the top shelf of the left-wall shelf that faces the short-dress shelf.

Which pose fits Malibu Dream?

Sparkle, with one hand raised to the face, for the hot pink sun hat look, and Daisy, with both arms above the head, for the aqua and pink beach set. Both are free under Solo.
