Connie tries to convince Brian to leave. And it seemed to work.
In-game journal
From Connie to Brian (4) is a tape lying out in the open in Permafrost, away from any named place. Once you pick it up, it goes into your journal, which keeps the tapes you collect.
On the tape, Connie congratulates Brian for reaching her and acknowledges what he has told her about his father: how controlling the man is, and his drinking. She offers Brian a way out. She will wait at this spot each night for a few days, and if he feels ready, he can come with her, leave House Camp behind and see what lies beyond it. The journal notes that her plea worked. The tape starts playing as soon as you pick it up. You can replay it later from the MEMOS page of the journal, which has Play, Pause and Stop controls.
