Recording – Scientists' Log: The Forgotten Ones is a recording that lies in the Military Area, a scavenging area. The nearest fast travel post is Fast Travel: Horizon, about 220 m away in a straight line, which makes it the easiest place to start the trip from.

The log comes from a scientist who chose to stay behind with the frozen sleepers while the pods holding them were starting to give out. Children are among those inside, and the speaker swings between bitterness and a sense of duty. The scientist hopes that whoever comes across the message will understand that not every member of the staff sided with Kain, and admits that the people with a conscience were not the ones who made it through. The recording starts playing as soon as you pick it up, and it is then kept in your journal, where the MEMOS page lets you play, pause or stop it whenever you want to hear it again.
