In-game description
Mushrooms are a food item in Permafrost: a small batch of fungi that have pushed their way up through the snow. Eating them gives Hunger 30, which makes them a handy thing to pick up whenever you pass some. Their value is 8 Bucks, which is what a trader charges for them.
The map has 36 spots where Mushrooms lie on the ground, and most of them sit in caves. Bone Cave has the largest cluster, with 16 spots, and Landscar Cave follows with 10, so either cave makes a good stop if you are foraging for food. Water Tower has another 4 spots, which is useful if you are already heading that way. If you would rather buy them, Eric Hirsch and Logan Boyce both stock Mushrooms, so look for either trader when your food runs low.
