In-game description
Surgical Spirit is a medication: undiluted alcohol, and one of the items that disappeared early from the area's hospitals and clinics. Using it costs you some health, but it clears Parasites, Infected Wound and Nasty Wound, so it is worth keeping on hand for when one of those sets in. It also carries a trade value, so it can be bought as well as found.
The map has 4 spots where it lies ready to pick up, one each at the Military Area, the Greenhouse, the Church and the Promenade (House Camp). It can also turn up in bags, damaged cars, damaged vans, frozen bodies, insulated crates, medical supply boxes and military crates. Eric Hirsch, General Trader, Jeremiah Crow and Robyn stock it. Surgical Spirit is also used to craft Bandage, so a spare bottle has a use even when you are not treating a wound.
