Wages of fear is a side quest in the White Hell quest line, and its goal is to track down a missing shipment of cargo. The whole job plays out in the White Hell region. It opens with a trip along the cargo route. Along the way you meet a stranger and have to speak with them before the trail goes any further. From there the quest points you onward to another hideout, which marks the destination. Once you arrive, one last conversation wraps the job up.
The steps come down to moving along the route and speaking to the right people at the right moments. The reward is a payment, handed over in that closing conversation once you reach the other hideout. Collecting it settles the job and completes this side quest in the White Hell line.
