Establish a new home by gathering resources and building the necessary structures.
In-game journal
New Home is a main quest in the Horizon line, and it starts the moment the dog is saved in Dog Days. Miles has the materials ready, and your part is to help raise a new home. Leave Bone Cave by its far exit into the Woods, then lay 2 Wooden Foundations, raise 5 Wooden Walls, and add a Wooden Doorway, 2 Floor/Roof pieces and a Wooden Door. Claim a Bed and place a Small Wooden Chest, then make a Workbench and flint tools. Learn the Stone Furnace Blueprint, put up the furnace and smelt a Copper Ingot, with an optional supply search in the cold zone. A Radio Station and a friend's transmission close it out.
The clearing past the cave exit has planks, pines, Rock Boulders and Bushes close by. A Wooden Foundation takes 5 Wood, the Workbench 10 Wood, and the Stone Furnace 40 Stone and 2 blueprint points. A Copper Ingot is 3 Copper and 5 Coal, though the loose ingot at Nomad Camp also ticks that step. Turn an ingot into Wire at the Workbench; the Radio Station Bench needs 3 Wire and 10 Wood on a built floor. Press F on it to start The Outpost.
