Recordings and notes in Permafrost are tapes and papers lying around the world, and the map has 36 of them. Once you pick one up, it is kept in your journal.
The Military Area holds the most, with 7, then Technocrats Colony with 5, and Horizon and the Solar Power Plant with 4 each. Promenade (House Camp) has 2 and the Church has 1. Return to Hunter's Glade sits on the desk in the cabin at the top of the Hunter's Glade tower, and the quest of the same name asks you to bring it to Robyn. Others to look out for include Liam's Confession #1, Liam's Confession #2, The Lost Wife #2 and Green-eyed Blizzard.
