Seifuku Dress To Impress: 3 Japanese School Uniform Outfit Ideas (Navy Pleated Skirt, Plaid Skirt With Blazer, All-Black Collared Look)

Three free Freeplay builds: a navy pleated skirt with a bowed tee, a plaid skirt with a blazer, and an all-black collared look.

Three free Freeplay builds: a navy pleated skirt with a bowed tee, a plaid skirt with a blazer, and an all-black collared look.

Seifuku (searched most as “seifuku dti”) is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox. Seifuku is the Japanese word for a school uniform: a short pleated skirt with a white shirt or sailor top, often with a blazer, in navy, white, grey or black. We built three looks in Freeplay Mode, a white tee with navy sleeve bows over a navy pleated skirt, a black blazer over a grey plaid skirt with chains, and an all-black version with a pale collar, and took our own pictures of each step. Every piece and color used is free, so all three work without VIP. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.

Quick answer: Wear a white tee with navy sleeve bows over a navy pleated mini skirt, with long straight black hair. Set the navy on the Wheel tab with the slider near the dark end; the Palette’s darkest blue reads royal blue.

Seifuku outfit ideas in Dress To Impress

Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits, what it looks like and the spot we used on the Default palette (columns from the left, rows from the top). A fresh Freeplay character starts in the base body: a blank head with no hair, a black top, black shorts and bare feet. In all three looks the top and skirt cover the base top and shorts, and all three are barefoot.

We did not find a sailor collar, a neck ribbon or tie, knee socks, loafers or a school bag. The sleeve bows in Look 1 and the pale collar in Look 3 are the closest stand-ins we found for the sailor-top details.

Look 1: White tee with navy bows and a navy pleated skirt

Our idea: the classic summer seifuku in navy and white, with a short pleated skirt, a plain white top with small navy bows and long straight black hair.

In Freeplay Mode, start from the spawn hall. The skirts and trousers wall is to the right of where you spawn. On its lower-left shelf is a white pleated mini skirt with a belt.

Click the skirt. It shows on you as a preview and its color panel opens at “1/3: Preview”: the skirt has three parts. Part 1 is the skirt itself, grey by default (HEX #78736e).

Do not reach for the Palette’s darkest blue (column 4, row 7) for navy. On our skirt it came out a bright royal blue in the hall’s light.

For a true navy, open the Wheel tab while part 1 is selected, click the blue at the top of the color area, then drag the brightness slider almost to the dark end. We landed on HEX #04041f, which reads as a deep navy on the skirt.

Look 2: Black blazer and grey plaid skirt

Our idea: the winter seifuku, with a dark blazer over the white top and a grey plaid pleated skirt. We kept Look 1’s white tee under the blazer.

Go to the Halloween display in the Dressing Room, the round podium with pumpkins and dressed mannequins. The mannequin front-left of center wears a dark pleated mini skirt with chains. It is the same skirt our Punk outfit ideas turn red.

Look 3: All-black seifuku with a pale collar

Our idea: a darker take with a collared black top, the same chained skirt in near-black, and black hair. This look swaps the top and recolors Look 2’s skirt and hair.

Go back to the left unit of the tops wall. On its middle shelf is a black cropped top with a white collar.

Why these looks read as Seifuku

A seifuku is built on a few pieces: a short pleated skirt, a white or collared top, and a blazer or a sailor collar, in navy, white, grey or black. Look 1 is the light summer version in navy and white, Look 2 the winter version with a blazer and a plaid skirt, and Look 3 a darker version with the collar doing the work. Long straight hair keeps all three neat. That is plain styling advice; we have not seen how any of them scores in a real round.

Look 2 and Look 3 use the chained skirt from our Punk outfit ideas. For other school and study looks, see our Favorite Show outfit ideas and Candlelit Library outfit ideas; for more plaid, see our Trip To London outfit ideas; and for a look in one color, see our Monochrome Mood outfit ideas.

How to get navy instead of bright blue

  1. Click the piece so it shows on you as a preview, and pick the part with the arrows beside the part name (“1/3: Preview” and so on).
  2. Open the Wheel tab, not the Palette.
  3. Click the blue at the top of the color area.
  4. Drag the brightness slider under it almost to the dark end. The HEX box shows the result; we used #04041f.
  5. Set every part, then press “Put On”. Colors set while previewing stay on the piece you wear.

To change a piece you already wear, including your hair, click its picture in the Wearing panel and set the part again. To take a piece off, click the heart X under its picture.

Poses for Seifuku

Any free pose from the Poses menu works; a hand on the head or hands on the hips suit a school-photo look. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.

Building it in Freeplay Mode first

Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to find the pieces and get the navy right without a round running out. That matters here: the navy takes a trip to the Wheel tab, the tops wall is crowded enough to put on the wrong piece, and the skirt grey needs a second try. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which colors and which parts to go to when Seifuku comes up in a real round. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island, Summer Cruise, Favorite Show, Fairytale, Cotton Candy Couture, Cyberpunk, Birth Stones, Y2K Popstar, Video Game Character, Top Model, Fast Food Mascot, DJ, Award Show, Drama Queen, Instagram Model, Day of the Dead, Malibu Dream, Stained Glass, Summer Camp, Modern Royalty, Trad Goth, Wonderland, Trip To London, Pop Art Princess, Sugar And Spice, Paranormal Investigator, Cursed Lagoon, Complementary Colors, Galactic Glam, Dancer, Midnight Circus, Jellyfish, Garden Tea Party, Enchanted Curse, Harvest Festival, Thrifted, Lazy But Cute, Possessed, Night At The Orchard, Bioluminescent Depths, Coronation, Your Country, Reality Television, Subway Rush, Candlelit Library, Dystopia, Decora, Vaporwave, Gymnastics, NPC Core, Webbed In Style and Punk outfit ideas.

How a theme round works

We have not had Seifuku as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players, followed by an “Intermission” countdown.

The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Seifuku to roll.

What we have not checked

No round we joined rolled Seifuku, so these looks have not walked a real round: there is no score, star count or vote for them. We did not find a sailor collar, a neck ribbon or tie, knee socks, loafers or a school bag, and did not search every shelf for them. We did not try twin tails or a pastel version. All three looks are barefoot, and we added no makeup or accessories. Looks 2 and 3 recolor the same hair and skirt rather than using new pieces. They were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.

FAQ

What is the Seifuku theme in Dress To Impress?

The game gives only the theme’s name. Seifuku is the Japanese word for a school uniform, so the theme asks for a short pleated skirt, a white or collared top, often a blazer, in navy, white, grey or black.

Can I do Seifuku without VIP?

Yes. All three looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece and color used here worked on it, with no lock or price on any of them.

Is there a sailor uniform in Dress To Impress?

We did not find a sailor collar or a sailor top. The white tee with navy sleeve bows and the black top with a pale collar are the closest free stand-ins we found.

Where is the pleated skirt?

The plain pleated skirt is on the lower-left shelf of the skirts and trousers wall in the Freeplay spawn hall. The chained pleated skirt is on the front-left mannequin of the Halloween display in the Dressing Room.

Why does my navy look bright blue?

The Palette’s darkest blue reads as royal blue in the hall’s light. Use the Wheel tab instead and drag the brightness slider almost to the dark end; we used HEX #04041f.

Where is the black blazer?

On the left unit of the Dressing Room tops wall, at the far right of the top shelf. Leave part 1 black and set part 2 white for the layer at the neck.
